Students listened to story the Curioius Garden and we discussed how we could make the world a beautiful place, just like the little boy in the story did. A little girl mentioned making art could make the world a better place, which was exactly where I was going with the lesson. I just love it when my little ones think outside the box in BIG ways.
These painting were done with oil pastel first, then water color dabs on top. The next day they took sharpies and drew their detail flower gardens. They used photos of flowers as their inspiration.
